Julie Pursley, MSHI, RHIA, CHDA, FAHIMA

Julie Pursley, MSHI, RHIA, CHDA, FAHIMA, is the Senior Director of Health Information Thought Leadership at The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

In her role at AHIMA, Ms. Pursley leads and cultivates initiatives and content development to promote AHIMA’s thought leadership position. Julie is a published author, contributor, and public speaker.

Her career has been focused on the integrity of health data; acting as a change agent for the management and proper use to protect and promote integrity, accuracy, and completeness. Previously, Julie served in sales and business development for master patient index clean-ups and algorithmic optimization, operations oversight for leading document management vendors serving the U.S. and Canada, health information manager for a large integrated healthcare delivery system, and president of a regional medical transcription service.

Julie holds a Master of Science in Health Informatics and Bachelor of Science in Health Information Administration from the University of Cincinnati and is an adjunct professor at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri.
