Priya Bathija is a nationally-recognized health care leader, attorney and policy expert who designs, implements, and grows initiatives that help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
She is the founder and CEO, Nyoo Health.
She is an adjunct professor at the Loyola University Chicago School of Law where she teaches health care payment and policy.
She is also the former vice president of strategic initiatives at the American Hospital Association where she designed and led AHA’s effort, The Value Initiative, which guides hospitals as they promote value and affordability. She also led the organization’s work on maternal and child health, the societal factors that influence health, and was a key member of AHA’s Health Equity Strategies team. Priya has also served as AHA’s policy expert on inpatient payment, graduate medical education, rural hospital issues, and led the design of innovative delivery models that could ensure access to health care in vulnerable communities.
Prior to joining AHA, she was hospital counsel for MedStar’s Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center and associate general counsel at ProMedica Health System. She started her career as an associate at Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLP.
