Stephen Young received his bachelor’s in HIM from Temple University. He also holds a Healthcare MBA from St. Joseph's University, a Masters in Information Systems from Drexel University, and a Certificate in Population Health from John's Hopkins University.
He has held leadership positions in various provider settings such as long term care and short term rehab, home health and attendant care services, pediatric health systems, and managed care organizations / Medicaid and Medicare. In all positions, Stephen has lead efforts in transforming HIM derived and managed data into business and health knowledge and insights to drive outcomes. He was also an adjunct professor for Temple University's Masters of Health Informatics program. In recent years, he led Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to win the coveted AHIMA Grace award.
Stephen is an active member in his local HIM associations, has been a member on prior Pennsylvania HIE initiatives, and currently sits on the board for a non-profit providing senior and mental health care to underserved areas of Philadelphia. He is an active member of AHIMA, participating in work groups, publishing Journal articles, and most recently part of the inaugural payor group.
