Ashley Bailey, MSHCM, RHIA, HIM Director at Ochsner Health is a dynamic healthcare leader who serves as a vital link to connecting key organizational stakeholders. Ashley brings a unique blend of expertise and leadership to her role. As a healthcare leader, she oversees the HIM Quality Operations team responsible for vital functions, including Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI)/Patient Identification, Chart Correction, Forms Management, Legacy Data, and Documentation Integrity. Her leadership is characterized by a deep-seated passion for leading transformation initiatives that solve complex problems. Ashley believes that by caring for patients’ health information, her team plays a pivotal role in enhancing patient care and outcomes.

Ashley’s career has been marked by a dedication to advancing the field of healthcare data management. Her understanding of the complexities of health information systems and her commitment to managing the highest standards of patient data integrity make her a trusted leader in her field. In her most recent endeavors, Ashley spearheaded her organization’s creation of its first Patient Identifier and Naming Convention Policy. She also collaborated closely with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) to contribute to the development of the Patient Identification Microcredential, further solidifying her commitment to advancing the field.

Ashley is not only a leader within her organization but also an active volunteer for AHIMA, where she currently serves on the Exam Development Committee. Additionally, she plays a pivotal role within the Louisiana Health Information Management Association (LHIMA) as the president-elect on the current executive board. In the past, she contributed in the capacity of Scholarship/Support of Schools Project Manager.

Ashley’s educational achievements include a Master of Science in Health Care Management and a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management. She holds the designation of Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and is Epic Identity Certified.
