Meredith Yinger is the Senior Manager of Federal Policy at the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). In this role, she leads AAFP’s regulatory advocacy and engagement across federal agencies, as well as the development of actionable recommendations for federal policymakers with the goal of improving equitable access to high-quality primary care for all. Prior to joining the AAFP, Meredith was a Health Policy Analyst at the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, where she led value-based care, physician payment, and health information technology policy development and advocacy on behalf of the nation’s ob-gyns.
Meredith also gained experience providing direct patient care as an Emergency Medical Technician and Patient Care Technician before transitioning to focus on health policy. Meredith received her Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. She lives in Arlington with her husband and her 3 year old dog, Carson.
