Deborah Adair, RHIA, MPH, MS is currently the Executive Director of Enterprise Health Information Management Digital for Mass General Brigham in Boston where she is responsible for overseeing centralized health information and privacy operations across a large integrated health care system which includes Brigham and Women's Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, community and specialty hospitals, a health plan, physician network, community health centers, home care and other health-related entities. As a dedicated health information professional, Deborah’s priority is assuring timely access to reliable health information, while respecting patient privacy rights and preferences. She and her team have implemented numerous processes to involve patients in choices for sharing their health information in a secure and confidential manner. Recently the HIM unit joined the digital team which focuses on technology, processes and people to help deliver the best outcomes in patient care. Deborah chairs an interdisciplinary HIE Operating Committee that recommends actions related to strategic and operational exchange of electronic health information.
Deborah is a member of the Massachusetts HIT Council whose goal is to advance the use of the state HIE, known as the Mass HIway. She is also member of the AHIMA Advocacy and Policy Council.
Deborah earned her Master’s in Public Health from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science in Health Records Administration from Northeastern University.
