Jonathan P. Weiner, DrPH, is a professor of health policy and management and health informatics at the Johns Hopkins University. He is the founder and co-director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Population Health Information Technology (CPHIT) at the Bloomberg School of Public Health. (www.jhsph.edu/cphit). Dr. Weiner is an internationally regarded researcher and policy analyst who has worked in several health care system domains. His current work focuses on the integration and application of “big data” from the medical, insurance, public health and social service sectors for population and community based analytics and interventions. He is the co-developer and scientific director of the Johns Hopkins ACG population based predictive modeling / risk adjustment system, in use in 30 nations. (www.hopkinsacg.org). Much of his current R&D efforts involve extracting useful information on social factors from EHRs, insurance claims and non-medical electronic data sources.
